Record Store Day Black Friday happened last week. I did go out and crate dig, but that is not what I am going to talk to you about. I am going to give you my honest opinion about Record Store Day as a whole.
It is a really fun event because you get to hang out with lots and lots of music heads all day long and talk music. Not only that, you are able to listen to a lot of different kinds of music that the DJs play, that is, if your local store has a DJ booth and brings them in to play. Also, you try your luck at finding releases that will not be available again.
Which brings me to the point I want to make. As fun as Record Store Day is, there is a huge downside. That downside is when people show up, buy records which they have no intention of keeping and listening to but reselling those same records for 3-4 times what they paid for that particular record makes me upset. Example, when Taylor Swift releases something on record store day, that same record is listed for several hundred dollars if not more on Ebay or Discogs the day of or day before the release comes out. I am not a fan of price gouging
For those of you who wait in line on record store day, I would like your feedback. Thanks
